Animal toxicity studies in mice, rats, hamsters, and dogs demonstrated no adverse effects at doses up to at least 4000 mg/kg bw/day. Carcinogenicity and neurotoxicity evaluations, including several human case-control studies and one prospective cohort study, reported no evidence of cancer across any tissue or impairment of nervous system function, learning, or behavior.
