Anatomical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans were collected before and after an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course in 16 healthy, meditation-naïve adults. Pre-to-post changes in brain gray matter concentration were analyzed using voxel-based morphometry (both region-of-interest and whole-brain analyses) and compared to a wait-list control group of 17 participants.
