What was done
On two separate occasions, 46 participants consumed an identical 380-calorie milkshake under deceptive labeling: framed either as a 620-calorie "indulgent" shake or a 140-calorie "sensible" shake. Intravenous blood samples were collected at three time points—baseline (20 min), anticipatory after rating the shake's label (60 min), and postconsumption after drinking (90 min)—to measure circulating levels of ghrelin.
What was found

Qualitatively, viewing and consuming the shake under the indulgent mindset resulted in a dramatically steeper decline in ghrelin after consumption, whereas the sensible mindset produced a relatively flat ghrelin response.
