Mediation analysis tested whether rumination mediated the relationship between regional gray matter structure and NLE sensitivity.

Regional gray matter volume in the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (VLPFC)—principally within the left frontal operculum and a portion of the left middle frontal gyrus—was positively associated with individual NLE sensitivity.
