What was done
Seven women with no gynecologic abnormalities who reported recurrent, massive fluid emission during sexual stimulation underwent provoked sexual arousal. Pelvic ultrasound scans were conducted at three timepoints: following voluntary urination (US1), during sexual stimulation immediately before squirting (US2), and immediately after squirting (US3). Urea, creatinine, uric acid, and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) concentrations were measured in baseline urine before sexual stimulation (BSU), in the squirted fluid sample itself (S), and in urine collected after squirting (ASU).
What was found
In all 7 participants, initial ultrasound confirmed complete bladder emptying. Subsequent ultrasound just before squirting showed noticeable bladder filling, and ultrasound directly after squirting showed that the bladder had emptied again. Biochemical analysis across all 7 participants showed comparable concentrations of urea, creatinine, and uric acid among baseline urine, squirted fluid, and post-squirting urine. PSA was absent in baseline urine in 6 of 7 participants, but was detected in the squirted fluid and post-squirting urine in 5 of 7 participants.
Why it matters
The findings provide direct ultrasonographic and biochemical evidence that female squirting represents the involuntary emission of urine resulting from rapid bladder filling during sexual arousal, with an occasional marginal contribution of prostatic secretions.
Limits
The study is limited by a very small sample size (n = 7) and lacks a control group. The abstract does not report exact quantitative volumes, rates of fluid accumulation, or numerical biochemical concentrations.
