Reactivating GABAergic neurons primarily in the MPO triggered non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep without causing a decrease in body temperature. Reactivating nitrergic-glutamatergic neurons across the MnPO and MPO simultaneously induced core body cooling and NREM sleep.
