Media Use Is Linked to Lower Psychological Well-Being: Evidence from Three Datasets.

What was found
Light users reported higher psychological well-being than heavy users, with the largest decline occurring between moderate and heavy use. Heavy users were 48% to 171% more likely than light users to report unhappiness, low well-being, or suicide risk factors (depression, suicidal ideation, or past suicide attempts), and were twice as likely to report a suicide attempt.
Why it matters
