Researchers performed a single heterochronic blood exchange from aged male mice into young male mice to investigate whether bloodborne factors transmit senescence. They also tested whether pre-treating old donor mice with senolytic drugs prior to blood exchange prevented this transmission.

A single exchange of aged mouse blood induced cell and tissue senescence in young mice. Pre-treating the old donor animals with senolytic drugs abrogated the induction of senescence in the young recipients. The abstract reports no numerical values, effect sizes, or statistical metrics.
