This narrative review synthesized literature on age-related thymic involution and evaluated the immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant mechanisms of thymosin alpha-1 (Tα1). It also reviewed evidence on the hybrid drug Refnot (a fusion of tumor necrosis factor alpha and Tα1) for mitigating age-associated immune dysfunction.
