A retrospective cohort study examined 2,556 NFL players drafted between 2011 and 2023 who played at least 16 career games. Athletes were categorized as multisport or single-sport participants using public high school varsity records. Injury data were obtained from validated online databases. The primary outcome was injury incidence per 1,000 snaps, evaluated using position-stratified incidence rate ratios (IRRs). Secondary outcomes included career length, total games played, and weighted career approximate value.

Why it matters
