A subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) model was established in 40 rabbits divided into three groups: control, oral nimodipine, and tadalafil. Cerebral vessels were evaluated angiographically before and on day 3 following SAH. Vertebrobasilar arteries were harvested to measure and compare microscopic lumen area and media area across groups.
What was found
Angiographically, the tadalafil group demonstrated statistically significant vasodilation compared with the control group (p < 0.01).
